The Blue Butterfly Dyslexia Center transforms struggle into success through evidence-based dyslexia therapy that honors each child's unique strengths and spirit. We advocate fiercely alongside families.
I began my career as a special education teacher 13 years ago, but my path took a turn when I chose to stay home to raise and teach my own three children to read. Those years weren’t a pause. They deepened my understanding of how children learn, the patience it requires, and what families truly need during the journey. When I returned to education, I took a job at my kids’ private school in Texas, not knowing I would find my calling in doing so.
What started out as dyslexia support became my passion. I transformed the role into comprehensive dyslexia therapy and pioneered a learning lab program, serving as its founding director. I managed schoolwide assessments and designed individualized success plans tailored to what each student needed- not just what fit the system, because your child deserves tools that work for them.
I’ve walked alongside many families through their most challenging moments and celebrated with them when their child finally experiences that breakthrough. Each family’s journey is unique, and I’m honored to be part of yours.
I founded the Blue Butterfly to bring families the specialized dyslexia therapy their children deserve. Grounded in research-backed approaches recommended by International Dyslexia Association guidelines and Scottish Rite, I provide therapy that’s explicit, systematic, multi-sensory, and diagnostic. This isn’t just practice; it’s rewiring how your child processes language and building the pathways that make reading click.
Your child deserves this level of specialized support, and I’m excited to offer it right here in Douglas County, Colorado.
I know the educational system can feel overwhelming and confusing. You need someone in your corner who understands the meetings, the paperwork, your child’s rights, and how to make sure your child gets what they need. That’s where my advocacy work comes in. You shouldn’t have to figure this out alone.
with my special education background...
Certified Academic Language Practitioner certification, and current work toward CALT certification, your child receives the highest level of dyslexia therapy. More importantly, you can trust that your child is learning from someone who deeply understands how the brain processes language and how to help them succeed.
You’ll find me with my family and our menagerie of dogs, a cat named Agatha Kitty (named after my favorite author, Agatha Christie) and chickens. I'm likely reading (no surprise!), spinning vinyl, practicing yoga, working on puzzles, dreaming up our next family adventure, getting my hands dirty in the garden, or snuggling up for movie and game nights.
I’m a Parker mom who loves this community, and I’m here to support yours.
